Faith Baptist Church was established in 2000 as a result of the merging of 2 churches. We are a body of believers committed to worshiping and serving the Lord Jesus Christ. As a Southern Baptist Church, we join with like-minded Christians in spreading the gospel in our community and around the world. We also partner with the Virginia Baptist and the Peninsula Baptist Association for this purpose.
We strive to be like Jesus and reach out to people of all ages and backgrounds. We are a friendly place to worship and we have a place for everyone to study the Scriptures, fellowship together and minister to others through service opportunities.
History of Faith Baptist Church
On September 3, 2000 Faith Baptist Church conducted its first worship service. Our family is the combination of Bethany Baptist Church of Newport News and Big Bethel Baptist Church of Hampton. We have come together to extend the work of God in our community and through our missions projects.
Our Mission
We will bear witness to the good news of Jesus Christ. We shall unashamedly proclaim Him as the one and only true Savior of men.
We shall advertise the kingdom by whatever avenue God makes available. We will encourage and support one another in order to strengthen the fellowship of this church.
This is God's ministry and we shall endeavor to focus all the gifts of this body in such a manner as to honor Him and serve Him who saved us. If we are faithful He has promised his blessings.
Our Mission is as follows:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."(Matthew 28: 19-20)
"But you shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."(Acts 1:8)
"And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."(2 Corinthians 5:18-19)

Our objective is to worship God and be a fellowship of Christian believers, disciple in the Word of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit to pursue the salvation and Christian growth of all peoples. Also, will endeavor to minister to those in need as evidence of our salvation. (*Scripture - KJV)
